Modi- The God of poor in Recent India

India's budget announcement came out yesterday. I am so happy to see this government working relentlessly for the poor, and the farmers while taxing the rich. That is exactly the way to go. Born and raised in a  country like India makes you proud as well as helpless in a sense that system works best to get richer more rich and poorer more poor. The middle class is dwindling. Modi government is taking care of the poor which hopefully will help some of them push in middle income bracket. Looking at the highlights it looks like more relief to farmers, more health insurance to poor , more support for business community, more relief for senior citizens, more spending on infrastructure and more taxing on capital gains and rich. What better recipe for success than this?? As always the opposition will bad mouth any of Modi's moves. Where are all the economic Gurus who had predicted the real estate bust after Modi's demonetization move?? What happened?? India is doing nothing but progressing forward under Modi's government.  After a long time I am confident of the path India is taking and feel India is secure under Modi. Please keep doing the good deed you are doing.  God will continue to bless you and we love you for what you are doing for our people!!!

The other day I was listening to how a teacher who wouldn't allow phones in the class got protested by students. Why should our kids be exposed to so many sources of distraction when their sole purpose in class should be to focus and learn?
Is this an isolated incidence or a start of a trend of something which is a result of overexposure of our kids to media and technology or should I say unnecessary and useless socializing..

They say' Guns don't kill people, people kill people". That is true however the easier availability makes it happen easily and more often. Suicide rate is high amongst people who have easy access to guns, alcohol and drugs. My culture teaches me to say no to smoking/alcohol/drugs/guns/ premarital sex. I understand the purpose behind why we force our kids to abstain from bad things. By not drinking/ smoking in front of them poses a great example and they are more likely to follow suit. Say No to Bad habits and make changes in your life first so that your kids will learn what they see.

She was born in Russsia, was moved to orphanage, adopted by an american single mom, moved to America, and excelled in Wheelchair sports while growing up. Having an opportunity to not only participate in Olympics but wining a medal tells a story of an individual who had an extraordinary life. I am truly inspired after reading her story. Sheer perseverance, support of family and a country that provides opportunities and facilities to it's citizen is what she had. 'Will' alone was not enough.
Being Indian, I can't imagine a paraplegic woman being self sufficient, working and making a living on her own. Participating in a sport is almost impossible. How I wish that the opportunity she got was available to folks all around the world... That is a dream, which I do not know if it will be fulfilled in my lifetime.

New Era of an excellent healthcare system in USA is not far away.

Thanks to the strides made by Obama administration to do something about the exponentially rising healthcare cost that we finally have started moving. The government released data of what hospitals are charging Medicare for common procedures and what is the final amount Medicare is paying( surprised that Medicare is effectively able to negotiate and majority of times pay approx. 30% of the bill which tells me how overinflated rates the hospitals are charging)
I was shocked to see the difference in price of a total knee replacement which can vary from approx. 5-6K in a hospital in Oklahoma to approx. 220K in Monterey, CA...... Same procedure, similar outcomes and such a HUGE  difference in bill??
I am so Happy that Medicare is making things transparent for general public, now we can go to the CMS website and compare hospitals and possibly in future shop around to determine which is more affordable,

Affordable care act will kick in soon... can't wait to see what it will have to offer..

Watched Lincoln. A very well made movie. Time and again we need to watch a movie where we can appreciate how we easily take things for granted. He fought for FREEDOM for others and achieved it. A True man of conviction and who knew how to get things done in spite of road blocks on the way. Go watch it!!!
